Here are just a few of the many books written about Rwanda. Most of these titles I found on Amazon.com.  I also found this online Bibliography useful. Not all of the books are available online however where possible I have added links to enable you to buy them.

Bios

Land of a Thousand Hills : My Life in Rwanda by Rosamond Carr. I know at least some members of our contingent met this remarkable woman who has run an orphanage in Rwanda for years.

Fiction

Pagan Babies - a fiction book by Elmore Leonard.
Comment: Not a bad book. Only the first section is set in Rwanda 5 years post genocide however the familiarity of the names and some of the stories takes you back.

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.
Comment: This book is brilliant. Although set in the Congo in the early 60s it provides great background reading on the mess the Western World has made in this part of Africa. A must read. 5 of 5 stars

Speak Rwanda - Julian R. Pierce. A fictional exploration of the genocide in Rwanda, using first person narrators.5 of 5 stars
